Again, these camps are not mandatory, and in fact, you can attend any camp anywhere you wish. These are just a couple of camps that some of our athletes have decided to attend.
To fill in for our cancelled game with Kenai, we will be holding an Intra-Squad Scrimmage on Friday, 8-21-2015 at 7pm.
We have run out of uniforms and helmets and are no longer able to take on additional players.
Unfortunately we have lost 3 games from our schedule. Sitka was not able to sign up enough player for their football program. The good news is we were able to secure a replament game on Oct 3 in Tonasket, Washington.
We will play the Tonasket High School Tigers. Tonasket is a small high of about 350ish students. Their football team made the playoffs last year. However, many of their starters have graduated and now they have a very young team. We also have a very young team this year with only a handful of Seniors.
The Tonasket Tigers AD and their head coach, Jim Hawkins, have been gracious enough to host us.
Thanks to Linda Gilson, Nurse Practitioner, we are doing another round of low cost physicals.
Wednesday, 8/5 4pm-6pm Kayhi Training Room.
Our football clinic for Friday, July 24th, will be held at Kayhi at 5pm. We will do some "chalk time" and watch film.
Just a reminder that the season officially starts on Wed, July 29. In preparation, Coach Jim Byron and I will be issuing uniforms on July 27 & 28 at 5pm at the Kayhi Gym. Players must make every effort to be there to pick up their gear. We will be fully padded up on July 29th.
If players can't make it on one of those two dates, I cannot be sure when we will be able to do it again. It will be a real hassle digging out all the gear out of our storage closet for each time a straggler is available. In fact, we will have to arrange another date to issue gear to all of the stragglers at one time because I won't do the late players one at a time. Arranging time will be difficult as the coaches work and go straight to practice after work.
Remember, each player must make 10 full practices to play in the first game. If you do not have your gear you will not be able to practice. Also, if you have other commitments, I understand, but that still does not change the fact that you must have 10 practices to play in the first game. I will not make arrangements to have extra practices to help those that cannot make our regular practices. I have to draw the line somewhere.
To participate in Kayhi Football you must get your physical. You can get a low cost physical on Monday, July 27th, from 2pm-5pm, and on Tuesday, July 28th, 9am-Noon, in the Kayhi Training Room with Linda Gilson, Nurse Practitioner. The cost is $25. Please make check out to Linda Gilson and have the family side of the physical form filled out.
